The park is home to an estimated 30,000 creatures, making it one of the world’s densest wildlife habitats. Frequently referred to as “Africa’s Eden” and the “Eighth Natural Wonder of the World,” it is. The main reason people travel to Tanzania is to see the crater, which is unquestionably a world-class sight. Large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze close by as sleeping lions lie in the sun on the crater rim. After grazing on dew-covered grass in the early mist, the threatened black rhino retreats to the dense shelter of the crater forests at dawn. Tall Maasais, who have lived alongside wildlife for years, move their livestock and goats across lush meadows through the highland slopes just outside the crater’s ridge.
